In a context in which educational digitalisation is expanding fast and artificial intelligence begins to redefine the learning models, the galician company But Sacrificing Tecnolóxica Consulting has developed a proposal: Estud-IA pioneer, a platform linked to the educational attainment with artificial intelligence and predictive generativa. This project, supported by the CDTI Innovation and co-financed with european funds, applies the ERDF capabilities more advanced ai training area with the aim of transforming the experience of enseñanza-aprendizaje more personalized, inclusive and efficient.

“ for years have seen how traditional educational platforms cannot fully adapted to real needs of students, ” explains Ramón Rama, commercial director. “ With Measures Estud-IA we wanted it to be a step further, combining the potential of artificial intelligence generativa predictive and offer a truly personalized educational experience, centred on the progress, motivation and capabilities of each student ”.

Founded in 2000 in Galicia, Measures was born with a clear vocation: support organizations in their processing digital technological solutions. For over two decades, the company has consolidated its position in ICT consultancy, software development and digitization of processes, with a portfolio of clients that covers both public and private companies. It currently has 14 professionals, of whom two are engaged in a stable r & D activities, which reflects the commitment of this sme innovation for growth.

In the words of Branch, “ innovation has always been part of our Dna. In recent years we have sought to reinforce it with their own projects of R & D that will enable us to anticipate technology needs for strategic sectors such as education or public administration ”.

IA for a customized training

The project Estud-IA part of a clear premise: each student learns differently, and education systems should be able to recognize and accommodate that diversity. To achieve this, the platform is supported on three pillars: IA generativa technological forecasting models, and advanced analytical and a modular architecture and microservicios based mobile.

The combination of these elements allows the platform is not limited to manage content, but to accompany the learning process. The algorithms generativos — based on language (LLMs) content — generated reactively, personalized exercises and pedagogical recommendations consistent with the level and trends in the student body. At the same time, forecasting models discussed the performance and anticipate potential difficulties, to facilitate early interventions on the part of teachers.

“ we wanted to build a tool that not only taught, but i hear any and reworked ”, underlines Branch. “ Estud-IA analyzes how to learn each student, identifies behaviour patterns and generate customized training pathways to fit your pace, style and understanding ”.

Motivating digital education and inclusive

One of the most innovative aspects Estud-IA is its ability to customize the content on the role and evolution of the student. The continental analyses such variables as full-time, the types of errors, participation or academic progress, and generates recommendations in real time.

This adaptive approach has a direct impact on motivation and performance. the “ system reinforces the achievements and proposes new challenges in accordance with the level of the student, avoiding both frustration as boredom, ” explains the commercial director. “ We manage to each is student escorted, understood and motivated to move forward. It Is a profound change in education, which remains prevalent in many educational settings ”.

Accessibility is another of the priorities of the platform. Since its conception Estud-IA has developed in accordance with the Web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1 (AA) and to ensure their use by people with visual impairments. Among other measures, the tool includes full compatibility with screen readers, semantic structures accessible, alternative contents and options for interaction without vision.

“ since the beginning we were convinced that an inclusive digital education should also be accessible ”, points Branch. “ We wanted Estud-IA offered the same quality of experience to any user, regardless of their capacities visual or motor disabilities. This is also a way to democratize innovation ”.

Technology and pedagogy: cooperation is key

To achieve that balance between high technology and coherence, pedagogical Measures has worked closely with the company Mobydigital specializing in educational content and digital interactive experiences.

“ they make an enormous experience in the field formative and content creation reactively, while we are leading the technological development, the architecture of the platform and the integration of the models of IA, ” explains Rama. “ This combination has been crucial for Estud-IA is a balanced solution, with a strong educational support and a strong technological base ”.

The synergy between both companies has enabled the platform was developed with a focused approach to the end user - teachers and students — which reinforces its applicability in educational settings.

Tangible socio-economic impacts

The development of Estud-IA has been possible thanks to the support of Innovation and CDTI co-financing of european funds ERDF, which has been decisive for technological initiative of this magnitude.

“ for an sme like ours, to address an r & D of these features without the backing of the CDTI and ERDF funds would have been extremely complicated ” recognizes Ramón Rama. "we were able to consolidate this funding a team of highly qualified, investing in emerging technologies and to encourage educational innovation based on IA ”.

From a broader perspective, Rama underlines the strategic value of this type of aid to the entire ecosystem. “ innovative Public support for innovation not only encourages companies to develop projects with high added value, but creates a tangible impact on society. In our case, contributes to creating solutions that improve education, promote the inclusion and reinforce the country's technological competitiveness ”.

Ethical and technology challenges

One of the greatest challenges of the project has been to integrate effectively IA generativa models for every individual in a real educational environment, while ensuring the traceability of data, compliance and ethics of the process.

“ ensure that the artificial intelligence to be transparent, understandable and coherent syllabus has been a major challenge, ” says. “ We had to develop an architecture that combined the automatic generation of content with the validation human, to ensure that every resource is appropriate from the point of view and curriculum.

In Estud-IA, all contents generated by the ai are reviewed by teachers and educationalists before joining the student's environment, in accordance with ethical standards and quality. This hybrid supervision, combining validation expert automation and ensures that the digital learning academic rigour and cultural sensitivity.

In addition, the system is designed to fulfil the General regulations on data protection (RGPD) and continued with an audit of accessibility, factors that reinforce its reliability and their alignment with european standards of responsibility.

Speaking platform with an international vocation

One of the particularities of Estud-IA is adapting to the context of education's linguistic and you can imagine. The platform has been specifically trained in english, integrating terminology, curricular structures and cultural references of the ibero-american environment.

“ we wanted to develop a IA speak the language of the classroom, he had our educational settings and our cultural diversity, ” explains the head of marketing. “ This adaptation makes it a tool that is far closer and useful for teachers and students from the spanish-speaking countries ”.

Although their initial design is oriented to spanish-speaking environment, Estud-IA has a modular architecture that facilitates their internationalization. Measures plans to incorporate other languages, as a portuguese and spanish, and adapting it to new educational frameworks within its international expansion strategy.

Future objective: to become reference

With a vision in the medium term, Measures aimed at consolidating Estud-IA as a standard educational artificial intelligence accountable, inclusive and context. The next landmarks include the incorporation of new modules — as virtual monitoring, evaluation and training of itineraries generation —, certifications pedagogical and technological as well as integration with educational platforms as Moodle o Canvas.

“ within five years we imagine Estud-IA consolidated into a platform to provide scientific evidence on how the IA can enhance the learning processes ”, advances Ramón Branch. “ We want to work with universities and research centres to validate your impact cognitive and pedagogical. Our goal is to contribute to the development of a more equitable education, and customized open to the future ”.

For Measures, Estud-IA represents much more than a technological project: it is a commitment to a new way to understand the teaching, where the artificial intelligence acts as an ally of human learning. In the words of its sales director, “ innovation in education is not just apply technology; it is ready to serve the people, for their development and of their right to learn on an equal footing ”.

CDTI Innovation
