The programme INNVIERTE forms part of the strategy for science and technology and innovation, adopted by decision of the council of ministers, 1 february 2013. This Strategy contains goals, the reforms and measures to be taken throughout the area of r + D + i in order to boost their growth and impact, and is one of the pillars on which the design of the government's policy in r + D + i for the coming years.

The programme is aimed at promoting INNVIERTE entrepreneurial innovation through support to the risk capital investment in technology-based enterprises or innovative.

The CDTI-E.P.E, as a promoter of the programme INNVIERTE, is currently the sole shareholder of this society.

Strategy

In 2012, the CDTI launched INNVIERTE programme with the aim of stimulating investment in technological and innovative companies in spain. The program tries to solve two problems of the spanish system of innovation:

• Firstly, the poor transposition of the knowledge generated in the investigative agencies the productive fabric. Spain has made a huge investment effort in science and knowledge that doesn't make it sufficiently into the creation of value in the productive fabric. Technology-based enterprises are one of the vectors to achieve this transfer of knowledge.
• Secondly, the difficulty of technological and innovative companies in spain to grow and become relevant actors of global markets.

INNVIERTE puts emphasis on promoting the creation of an ecosystem that not only cover the funding of the different phases of the life cycle of companies, but to provide support for its management needs, knowledge of technology and access to international leaders.

Current lines of action

The programme in 2019 INNVIERTE has launched ajoint investment initiativeopen to investors by CNMV as regulated entities risk capital and investment firms, but also envisages the possibility of supporting professional investors in the sense that determines the RD 1464/2018, where they offer space for example the corporate investors. In november 2022 Innvierte has launched anewline in risk capital investment in strategic enterprises. The initiative aims to support the growth and consolidation of technological and innovative companies in spain with high economic growth potential and strategic for our country.

Previous action lines

Since its inception the programme INNVIERTE has supported the creation of specialized investment vehicles in technology, mainly to participate as investor in venture capital entities regulated by CNMV, but also through the signature of joint investment agreements with corporate investors interested in promoting investments in technological companies permanent short/medium term.
