Spain holds 2nd place in the number of companies financed at corte march 2025 accelerator EIC horizon of Europe
The European Council of innovation (EIC) focus Europe have selected for funding to 40 innovative companies in the accelerator, five of them spanish, placing Spain as a second country by number of companies financed in this court
The European Council of innovation (EIC) has identified 40 startups and innovative smes to be funded within the framework of the accelerator of Horizon europe, following its last round of assessment for the court march 2025. These companies were selected among the 150 proposals that exceeded the initial phase and agreed to the interviews held in june for their processing technologies and their high commercial potential.
Theselected companiesfrom 16 countries of the european union and partner countries. Among the countries with greater representation are germany (7 companies), spain (5), the netherlands (4) and sweden (4).
The five spanish entities receiving financing for development and deployment of its cutting-edge technologies are:
Financing
The selected companies will receive funding from the EIC on a grant and/or capital investment. 87 per cent of beneficiaries will comply with mixed financing, which combines a subvention (funding dilutiva) up to 2.5 million euros with a possible co-inversión in capital of up to 10 million euros.
Other companies will receive support exclusively in the form of subsidy (4 beneficiaries of which 3 are based in the united kingdom, which is not eligible for capital) or capital (1 company).
The aggregate amounts awarded in this court amounts to almost eur 230 million.
Spanish participation in the evaluation process
The court in march 2025, a total of 959 proposals, of which 150 (16 per cent) were selected to pass to the stage of interviews. Among them were 17 spanish companies, all beneficiaries ofthe service of mock interviewsoffered by the CDTI innovation which allows entities prepare this key stage and improve their opportunities to be funded.
The overall success rate in the interview was 26 per cent, while the rate of spanish companies at 29 per cent.
It is noteworthy that three of the companies financed have previously received the support of the programme NEOTEC. In the case of Bytelab, the company has agreed to the process off the accelerator throughPlug-In programme, an initiative of the CDTI to facilitate access to technology companies european instruments.

The CDTI Innovation continues to provide its support for spanish companies interested in participating in an accelerator of Horizon EIC Europe through itsNational contact points (NCP). This service includes the review of assessments, technical advice and assistance in the preparation of proposals for future international courts, accomplishments in october 2025 and along 2026.
