The SICC Innvierte of the CDTI Innovation invests in KEMBARA FUND I, F.C.R, fund launched by Mundi Ventures of 1 billion euros, to support Deep Tech and climate startups in Europe

The CDTI Innovation, through its Innvierte initiative, has committed an investment of up to 300 million euros in KEMBARA FUND I, F.C.R, a fund managed by Mundi Ventures, which invests in SMEs or Midcaps of the Deep Tech and Climate Tech sectors in the growth stage, mainly Series B and C, with special focus on scaleups.

This fund supports companies that leverage innovative science and engineering to address the most pressing global challenges. This support is not only economic, but also offers strategic support to help them scale and consolidate in the global market.

The size of the fund is €1 billion, allowing investments of up to €50 million per company. The geographical focus is on the European Union, the United Kingdom and Switzerland and, in relation to the investment sectors, this initiative focuses on deep technology sectors that drive the next wave of innovation. Among them, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, robotics, space technology, as well as energy efficiency, green mobility, circular economy, new materials or sustainable agriculture.

Mundi Ventures

Mundi Ventures is a global venture capital firm that invests in early-stage and growing technology companies. Founded in 2015, this manager has supported more than 60 companies with the long-term goal of helping people, companies and society manage an increasingly uncertain world through technology.

They are looking for bold and purposeful entrepreneurs who develop differentiated or patented technological solutions, which bring value and transform industries.

Innvierte

Innvierte is an initiative whose objective is to promote business innovation by supporting venture capital investment in technology-based or innovative companies. This program is implemented through the closed-ended collective investment company Innvierte Economía Permanente SICC S.M.E., S.A., self-managed and subject to the supervision of the National Securities Market Commission and of which CDTI Innovation is a single shareholder.

To date, the CDTI Innovation has committed, through Innvierte, 2,885.8 M€ in 54 investment vehicles and, through its co-investment line, has directly committed an amount of 833.6 M€ in 197 companies.

Innvierte is part of the Spanish Strategy of Science, Technology and Innovation 2021-2027, approved by Agreement of the Council of Ministers, in September 2020. This Strategy contains the objectives, reforms and measures that must be adopted throughout the field of R+D+I in order to boost its growth and impact, and is one of the pillars on which the design of the Government's R+D+I policy for the coming years is based.
 

CDTI Innovation

The Center for Technological Development and Innovation, CDTI E.P.E. It is the innovation agency of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, whose objective is the promotion of technological innovation in the business environment. The mission of the CDTI is to ensure that the Spanish business fabric generates and transforms scientific and technical knowledge into globally competitive, sustainable and inclusive growth.
