The Government approved the establishment of the first corporation of advanced therapies with público-privado capital of spain with the participation of CDTI through Innvierte SICC

  • The new society will have a public participation from 49 per cent of the ministry of science, innovation and universities throughout Innvierte, whose promoter and Sole shareholder is the centre for technological development and innovation (CDTI), and a private participation 51 per cent, of pharmaceutical companies Rovi e Insud Pharma.
  • The minister Diana Morant has assured me that this corporation “ responds to the government's commitment to the momentum, through science and innovation, of the most advanced medicine and the arrival to the labour market in health research being carried out by the spanish system of science to promote their access to all ”.

The council of ministers has today approved the establishment of the first corporation of advanced therapies with público-privado capital of spain, the result of a covenant of partners that will be formalized between the ministry of Science, innovation and universities throughout Innvierte, whose promoter and Sole shareholder is the centre for technological development and innovation (CDTI), and Insud Pharma, S.L. (“ Insud Pharma ”) and Pharmaceutical Laboratories Rovi S.A. (“ Rovi ”).

“ this new corporate entity, a pioneer in Spain, will be devoted to research, development and marketing of medicinal products in new advanced therapies in our country ”, according to the minister Diana Morant.

The corporate entity driven by the government of Spain will have a 51 per cent by private partners, Insud Pharma and Rovi, 49 per cent of public investment, from the ministry of Science, innovation and universities throughout Innvierte.

This initiative is in line with the strategic project for the recovery and Economic Transformation (LOSS) for the Health funds of the recovery Plan, transformation and Resilience, and plans to mobilize público-privada an initial pledge of over 74 million euros. Innvierte 36.685.000 euros and will provide the contribution of private capital will be 38.182.346 euros, from equal parts by the shareholders deprived, Insud Pharma and Rovi holders, each with a 25.5 per cent of the social capital.

 

“ commitment to the most advanced medicine ”

The minister of science, innovation and universities, Diana Morant, has assured me that this corporation “ responds to the government's commitment to the momentum, through science and innovation, of the most advanced medicine and the arrival to the labour market in health research being carried out by the spanish system of science to promote their access to all ”.

Morant has explained that the objective of the corporate entity advanced therapies is “ to develop and commercialise drugs, therapies, and advanced technologies, innovative or emerging in the health field from the results of research groups, the leading spanish areas ”.

In addition, the minister of science, innovation and universities has added that “ it also aims to train to spanish companies in this area, which we do not have national industry for this type of treatment ”.

Morant has noted that another aim of this company is “ to provide drugs resulting from this process the national health system with a competitive price, making our national health system more sustainable and facilitating access to treatments that have a very high cost ”.

The new society, through its Technical Scientific Committee, intends to choose advanced therapies to achieve as soon as possible its authorization and marketing in Spain.

 

Public participation in the corporate entity

Public participation system will be implemented through Innvierte Sustainable Economy, society for collective investment-type closed (SICC) supervised by the national securities market commission (CNMV), whose sole shareholder is the CDTI.

For its part, the institute of Carlos III Health (ISCIII) will work in the provision of scientific knowledge and participate in the bodies científico-tecnológicos decision of the society.

In addition, additional contribution by Innvierte up to 71 million euros, so that the new society could raise up to eur 220 million, with a total contribution of $107 million euros.
