Spain reaches the first place in the number of companies financed in the October 2025 cut of the Accelerator of the EIC of Horizonte Europa
Nine Spanish companies have been selected in the latest round of the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator, placing Spain, together with Germany, as the first country by number of innovative companies financed, with the support of the CDTI Innovation as the National Point of Contact of the program in Spain
The European Innovation Council (EIC) of Horizonte Europa has selected 61 innovative startups and SMEs to receive funding in the last cut of the Accelerator corresponding to October 2025. Of the 121 proposals that reached the final phase of the interview, 61 have been chosen for the transformative nature of their technologies and their high commercial potential.
The total funding approved in this court amounts to almost 467 million euros. 85% of the beneficiary companies will receive mixed financing, which combines a subsidy —non-dilutive financing— of up to 2.5 million euros and a co-investment in capital of up to 10 million euros. Other companies have applied for support only in the form of a subsidy (8 companies, 5 of them from the UK, country not eligible for the share of capital) or only in the form of capital (1 company). 28% of the companies selected have women in key management positions (CEO, CTO or CSO).
Selected companies come from 17 Member States and countries associated with Horizon Europe. Spain, with 9 companies selected, shares with Germany the first place in number of companies financed, ahead of France (8) and Sweden (6), thus consolidating the Spanish leadership in the EIC Accelerator.

In total, 916 companies submitted proposals in this court in October 2025. Of these, 161 were invited to the interview phase (18%), including 13 Spanish companies, many of which used the CDTI Innovation interview simulation service to prepare this decisive phase and improve their funding possibilities.
The overall success rate in the interview was 50%, a percentage that rises to about 70% in the case of Spanish companies. In addition, six of the Spanish companies financed had previously received support from the NEOTEC program of the CDTI Innovation and one of them received funding in the Women TechEU call, which highlights the coherence of the itinerary of support to deep-tech companies from the national to the European level.
