Ana Beik, CEO of Datintel: "We want to transform information overload into strategic intelligence for companies with the support of CDTI Innovation"
In a context where organizations receive thousands of data every day from very diverse sources, distinguishing what information is really reliable has become an increasing challenge. With the support of the NEOTEC Women Entrepreneurs program of the CDTI Innovation, the Alicante company Datintel has developed Golden Owl®, an artificial intelligence platform capable of analyzing large volumes of information, detecting risks and anticipating threats to help companies and institutions make better decisions
Datintel’s history is closely linked to the career path of its founder and CEO, Ana Beik. Its passage through sectors such as banking, international trade, risk management or international litigation, allowed it to detect a common problem: organizations have more and more information, but continue to have difficulties to transform it into useful knowledge.
This experience showed him that organizations must no longer only manage financial risks, but also reputational, regulatory, technological, geopolitical threats or threats linked to global supply chains. However, accessing strategic intelligence remains a complex and costly task, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises.
His previous experience as a journalist helped him to complete that vision. Beyond the collection of information, he understood that the real value lies in interpreting the context, identifying seemingly insignificant signals and understanding the narratives that condition reality. That learning would end up becoming Datintel’s philosophy: "Our mission is to transform information overload, misinformation and the growing complexity of the environment into reliable and actionable intelligence to help companies and institutions make better decisions," says the CEO.
From Excess of Data to Intelligence
In their daily lives, organizations coexist with an increasing volume of data from very diverse sources, often contradictory or difficult to verify. The difficulty is to separate the relevant from the noise and turn that information into a tool that allows you to decide with greater security.
Golden Owl® Team Members
To respond to this challenge, the Alicante company developed Golden Owl®, a platform that integrates research tools, continuous surveillance and specialized intelligence to analyze markets, monitor risks and detect emerging threats from multiple sources of information. "Its purpose is to solve one of the great challenges of our society: today the problem is not the lack of information, but the excess of data, the disinformation and the difficulty to distinguish what is reliable," emphasizes Ana Beik.
Rather than providing reports, the system seeks to build a global view of the environment to help companies and institutions anticipate complex scenarios before they have consequences. “Golden Owl® transforms that complex environment into useful intelligence, enabling you to detect risks, uncover opportunities and anticipate threats before they have an impact,” he adds.
An artificial intelligence that reasons
One of the elements that differentiate Golden Owl® from other analytics platforms is the way it employs artificial intelligence. Instead of simply retrieving information or generating automatic responses, the system reproduces part of the reasoning process that would be followed by a specialized researcher.
The platform processes information from multiple formats and sources, contrasts it, detects inconsistencies, relates evidence and builds informed conclusions before offering a recommendation to the user. This capability allows the integration of structured and unstructured data within the same analysis process, converting dispersed information into high-value intelligence for decision making. According to the company’s CEO, “our biggest differential is to have developed a reflective AI based on high-quality data.”
This approach is especially relevant when organizations must make decisions in scenarios where economic, regulatory, technological or geopolitical factors converge, and where analyzing each element separately is not enough.
Anticipate before the problem appears
Beyond timely analysis, Golden Owl® is designed to continuously monitor the evolution of the environment and facilitate an early response to possible changes. An alteration in the international supply chain, a regulatory change, a disinformation campaign or certain movements of competition may seem isolated facts, but analyzed together, they allow us to detect trends and anticipate risks before they have an impact on the organization.
The platform allows you to visualize the connections to better understand the information
“We live in an environment where risks constantly evolve and often leave small signals before they become visible,” explains Ana Beik. The objective here is to identify those early signals and turn them into alerts and applicable intelligence that will prevent problems. “We help organizations move from reacting to events to anticipating them, making decisions with greater context, speed and confidence,” he says.
The impulse of NEOTEC Women Entrepreneurs
The development of a technology based on artificial intelligence requires significant investments in research before reaching its commercial maturity. In the case of Datintel, the support of the NEOTEC Women Entrepreneurs program of the CDTI Innovation has been a decisive impulse to accelerate the evolution of Golden Owl®.
According to the CEO, this support has allowed them to strengthen the R&D team, advance the development of their own technology and consolidate a project that aspires to compete internationally in a particularly demanding field. "NEOTEC has involved much more than funding. It has been a validation of the technological potential of our project by the CDTI and has allowed us to accelerate the development of our own technology at a decisive moment for the company."
In addition, for Ana Beik, this program also represents an incentive to increase the presence of women at the head of high-impact technology companies. "As an entrepreneur, I also consider it especially important that there are programs that promote technology projects led by women. Innovation needs a diversity of perspectives and references that inspire new generations."
The future of intelligence will be trust
The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence is multiplying the ability of organizations to analyze information and support decision-making. However, for Ana Beik the real challenge will no longer be to develop increasingly powerful models, but to ensure the quality of the information with which they learn: "Models learn from the available information and, if that information is incomplete, biased or manipulated, the knowledge they generate may also be."
In a context marked by the proliferation of content generated by artificial intelligence and disinformation campaigns, having contrasted and contextualized data will be a differential factor for companies and institutions. "The real challenge will no longer be to develop more powerful models, but to ensure that they reason about objective, proven and high-quality information," he adds.
With this vision, Datintel will continue to develop technologies aimed at strengthening the quality of the knowledge on which public and private organizations support their strategic decisions. "Reducing that cognitive fatigue and strengthening the quality of the knowledge that is decided on will, in my opinion, be one of the great challenges of the next generation of artificial intelligence," he concludes.
CDTI Innovation
The Center for Technological Development and Innovation, CDTI E.P.E. It is the innovation agency of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, whose objective is the promotion of technological innovation in the business environment. The mission of the CDTI is to ensure that the Spanish business fabric generates and transforms scientific and technical knowledge into globally competitive, sustainable and inclusive growth.
