The CDTI Innovation and the region of Murcia gather to align efforts and enhance business innovation

The meeting, held today at the seat of the CDTI innovation, is the seventh since the signing of the collaboration between the two organizations in 2019, as extended by 2023 until 2027 for the good results obtained. In this meeting has discussed the follow-up report of the actions undertaken and have identified new opportunities to strengthen the regional ecosystem of innovation.

The report notes that between june 2021 and 2025, have been adopted 274 projects funded by the CDTI innovation in the region of Murcia, with a total contribution of over 93 million euros. Only in the first half of 2025 have already been adopted 39 operations, which confirms the positive trend in recent years. Additionally, there has been the high value corporate involvement in programmes such as murcianas Missions Science and innovation, NEOTEC and hotlines for innovation and expansion.

During the meeting also addressed the progress made in Pre-Commercial Public Purchase (CPP), highlighting two special tenders impact in the region, co-financed with funds ERDF 2014 - 2020. The first, focusing on intelligent computing distributed, has given the Murcia university of advanced technological capabilities for the creation of a campus intelligent. The second, to water management, has enabled us to validate innovative solutions aimed at enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of water resources.

There has also reviewed the trajectory of INNVIERTE programme promoted by the CDTI to foster business innovation through investment risk capital and innovative technology companies. This initiative, framed in the strategy for Science, technology and innovation, is channelled through different patterns of investment — as coinversiones, funds for technology transfer and funding — fund with the aim of supporting the growth of companies with high potential to contribute to the transformation of the productive fabric.

At the international level, have been reviewed the results of the region of Murcia on the Horizon Europe programme, reflecting a significant improvement compared with the previous Framework Programme, Horizon 2020. The success rate has risen to 19.3 per cent, compared to 12.9 per cent, and there is an increasing involvement of universities, technology centres, public research centres and associations of investigation, which have increased their contribution to the regional return.

Both parties have agreed on the need to continue to strengthen the institutional coordination and in jointly promoting the instruments of CDTI Innovation in the territory, with the common goal of improving the innovative capacity of the business fabric of the region of Murcia and its rank in the national and international programmes of R + D + I.
