The CDTI SODERCAN innovation and celebrated the 7th Joint Commission to drive innovation and technological development in Cantabria.

The Mixed Commission to a collaboration agreement signed between the centre for technological development and innovation and the society for Regional development of Cantabria (SODERCAN), on behalf of the government of Cantabria, held last week its seventh meeting in Santander to analyse the results of r & D & I projects supported in this Autonomous Community as well as the participation of entities cántabras in international and national programmes of innovation

A strategic partnership to strengthen a regional innovation ecosystem competitive

The follow-up joint committees constitute a forum for cooperation between the CDTI Innovation and the autonomous communities. These are aims to strengthen the institutional coordination, to identify new opportunities for collaboration and ensure that support to r + D + i arrive effectively with the regional business network.

On this occasion, the meeting was chaired by representatives of the CDTI SODERCAN innovation and the government delegation in Cantabria. During the meeting was repasó the evolution of the cooperation agreement signed in 2019 and extended by 2023, which has resulted in closer cooperation between the two institutions and strengthen support to innovative companies in the region. Thanks to this cooperation, in the past five years have passed more than 55 operations in different Technological areas, with a total budget of eur 39 million of whom about 31 million were provided by the CDTI.

CDTIDATA CANTABRIA

The committee also took stock of technology cooperation projects with the participation of international companies cántabras and analysed the degree of implementation of the Operational Programme Plurirregional (POPE 2). It was also revised other strategic initiatives as Innvierte, which promotes the co-investment in technology-based enterprises, and the Pre-Commercial Public Procurement, which aims to promote innovative solutions from the public demand.

At european level, repasaron the interim results of the participation of Cantabria in Europe programme Horizon. To date, the entities of the region have obtained 29.4 billion in subsidies, which represents a return of 0.63 per cent on the national total. This reflects a positive trend with regard to the previous programme, with an improvement in the rate of Success of the proposals and the increased involvement of companies, associations of research and technological centres of the community.

Finally, the activity value advocacy work in Cantabria, both through the organization of specific days as with the participation in sectoral meetings. The commission emphasized the importance of further promoting collaboration between undertakings, research centres and public administrations in consolidating a regional innovation ecosystem dynamic and competitive environment.
