The CDTI Innovation welcomes the second meeting of the mixed commission with the board of Extremadura to promote r & D & I in the region

The centre for technological development and innovation (CDTI Innovation) hosted yesterday at its headquarters the second meeting of the joint commission for monitoring the new cooperation agreement with the autonomous community of Extremadura. This meeting has enabled us to analyse the progress achieved to date and to strengthen joint commitment to promote innovation and technological development in the region

The meeting, chaired by representatives of the CDTI Innovation and the board of Extremadura, gives continuity to the institutional collaboration initiated in 2019 and renewed by the new convention signed at 2024, which strengthens the will of all parties to coordinate and complement their efforts to promote technology and innovation, with the aim of improving the competitiveness of the industrial fabric extremadura.

During the meeting presented the annual follow-up report, which contains the key results derived from the action Plan signed in november 2024. Among the most relevant data, she noted the adoption, so far in 2025, of 8 to support r & D & I projects developed in the region, in addition to the 17 adopted by 2024. These operations represent a contribution by the CDTI close to eur 15 million.

From 2021 to may 2025, the CDTI innovation has approved a total of 83 projects in Extremadura, solidifying a positive evolution in the use of instruments of funding and support for innovation by business fabric of extremadura.

It also emphasized the partnership initiatives in Pre-Commercial Public Procurement, such as the proposal for the development of innovative solutions in the field of preservation of organs in collaboration with the centre of Minimum surgery Invasion Jesus usón, as well as the technological challenge recently on gynecologic robotic surgeons, currently under development prototypes.

In the field of international cooperation, emphasized the participation of undertakings extremeñas in programs like EUROSTARS and CHINEKA, and the adoption of a draft 2021 ERANET Cofund with germany, italy and Portugal. Furthermore, Extremadura has had a role in the programme Horizon Europe, with a success rate of 21.7 per cent, to improve markedly in the previous programme H2020.

Finally, highlighted the active promotion and dissemination carried out in the past year by the CDTI innovation in Extremadura with the aim of supporting technological transformation of extremadura, business and facilitates access to funding, both nationally and internationally.

With this new meeting, the CDTI Innovation and the board of Extremadura renew their commitment to the momentum of innovation as an engine of economic and social development in the region, vying for institutional coordination and efficient use of available resources to promote an ecosystem innovative sound and competitive.
