The results reflect the impact of CDTI funding on job creation, technology leadership and business cooperation

The CDTI Innovation has published on its website the Interactive Monitoring Report 2025, which includes two sections dedicated to individual R&D projects and cooperation, both completed in 2023 and 2024.

The report provides access to information on the results generated by 1,368 individual projects and 472 cooperative projects, among which are the CENTEN-program (Consorcios de Investigación Empresarial Nacional), the R&D projects of International Cooperation and the R&D projects of National Cooperation. All these projects have been funded by the CDTI Innovation through the Partially Refundable Aid instrument.

Throughout the interactive report it is possible to consult the values of different indicators by technological area and extract segmented data, for example, for SMEs or for projects co-financed with ERDF funds.

The Monitoring Indicators Panel provides an overview of the results of these projects, including the following:

  • El 37,6% de los proyectos de I+D individuales genera empleo en I+D.
  • The rate of non-existent innovations in the market is 57.2%, which places these companies in a position of technological leadership.
  • Cooperation with research centers occurs in 54.9% of the projects, a percentage that amounts to 64.6% in the CENTENNIAL program.

The indicators of the Panel can be consulted by technological areas and are also presented disaggregated by Autonomous Community.

A first block of indicators describes the projects and the companies that develop them, such as the number of employees, the age of the company or the percentage of sales destined for R&D activities.

The interactive report also includes information on the effects of CDTI Innovation support on the R&D strategy of the beneficiary companies, the types of innovation that are developed in a greater and lesser percentage, the impact of these innovations on productive activity, employment and staff training, as well as commercial results and the expected investments derived from the projects. The results on industrial property are also presented, including the number of patents and trademarks or the reasons why companies decide not to patent.

In the section on cooperation projects, four additional indicators are incorporated:

  • The promoters of the cooperation, to identify the main actors driving the consortiums.
  • The difficulties encountered by the different participants when cooperating.
  • The main results derived from the cooperation.
  • The consolidation of this cooperation, measured through the continuity of the relations of technical collaboration in the medium and long term or through participation in other technological cooperation programs.

As a novelty, the report includes this year a specific block of social impact indicators, with its corresponding monitoring panel. This section includes information on the positive environmental impact, the contribution of projects to different social challenges, the development of accessible technologies, the improvement of the quality of life of some social groups and the gender perspective.
