The CDTI Innovation announces the opening of the 10th ESITIP Call for bilateral R&D projects between Spain and Egypt in the ICT sector

The Spanish-Egyptian Bilateral Technological Cooperation Program aims to promote business collaboration in technological development, innovation and technology transfer projects between entities from Spain and Egypt, in order to generate economic benefits for both countries and strengthen the competitiveness of their companies.

In this context, the CDTI Innovation, in collaboration with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency of Egypt (ITIDA), announces the opening of the 10th call of the ESITIP program (Egypt-Spain Information Technologies Innovation Programme), aimed at financing R+D+i projects for civil purposes, aimed at the development or significant improvement of innovative products, processes or services with market prospects and a duration of between 12 and 24 months.

Although the call is open to the field of information and communication technologies (ICT) in general, projects related to the following strategic areas will have greater weight: industry 4.0, digital transformation, cybersecurity, electronics and embedded systems for ICT applications, as well as the development of information and communication technologies applied to the sectors of transport, health, agriculture, people with disabilities, education and energy. In addition, in this call, areas of technological trend such as mobile applications, cloud computing, big data and data analysis, internet of things, blockchain and artificial intelligence will be prioritized.

Financing

In the case of Spain, companies participating in the selected projects will be able to receive funding from the CDTI Innovation through a grant from the Innoglobal FEDER 2026 call, which it will open soon, or through a partially refundable aid that can reach up to 85% of the project’s eligible cost. El presupuesto elegible en gatos de I+D de la empresa española deberá ser igual o superior a 175.000 euros.

The consortiums must consist of at least one Spanish company and one Egyptian entity.

Interested Spanish companies must submit their proposal through the CDTI Electronic Headquarters, where they must send, in addition to their application, the application form ESITIP and a consortium agreement, both duly signed by the partners of the two participating countries.
