The CDTI Innovation announces the upcoming opening of a new Eureka Globalstars Call with Japan for bilateral R&D projects
Eureka and the Japanese agency NEDO have agreed to launch a new call Globalstars with Japan to promote bilateral R&D projects between companies from Japan and participating Eureka countries
The objective of this call is to promote international cooperation between companies from Japan and participating Eureka countries, including Spain, to develop innovative products, processes or services oriented to the market and for civil use. The expected start date for the implementation of the projects is 1 August 2027.
The consortiums must be composed of at least two independent companies, a medium or small Japanese company not listed, according to the definition established in Japanese legislation, with its main R&D work center located in Japan, and another company from one of the Eureka countries participating in the call, such as a Spanish company.
Each project must involve at least two countries whose participation must be relevant and, in no case, any of the countries in a proposal must make more than 70% of the project budget. On the other hand, the budget must be consistent with the developments to be carried out and with the technical and financial capacity of the participants.
In this so-called Globalstars with Japan, the approved proposals will be endorsed through the Eureka seal which, in addition to being an international recognition of the technological level of the proposal, enables access to national public funding. Each participating country shall finance its own participating entities. In the case of Spain, the selected projects will be financed through the CDTI Innovation tools for R&D projects in international collaboration.
