The CDTI Innovation will finance the participation of Spanish entities in the third call of the European partnership Agroecology
The European Agroecology Partnership launches its third co-financed call, focused on boosting genetic diversity and the social challenges linked to the agroecological transition
El partenariado europeo Agroecology (Accelerating Farming Systems Transition through agroecology living labs and research infrastructures) ha abierto recientemente la tercera convocatoria cofinanciada, bajo el título “Fostering plant and animal genetic diversity and empowering farmers to accelerate the agroecological transition”. This edition addresses, among other aspects, genetic diversity and the social challenges linked to the agroecological transition.
The proposals should focus on one of the two priority themes:
- Enhance genetic diversity and crop and livestock variability for the agroecological transition.
- Strengthen the involvement and empowerment of farmers in the agroecological transition.
In this call, the State Research Agency (AEI) and the Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI Innovation) will finance the Spanish entities that participate in the selected consortia. In addition, the Junta de Extremadura will finance the entities of the region.
The proposals should be formulated in transnational consortia with at least three eligible partners from three different funding countries and the Spanish entities should comply with the specific national eligibility requirements set out in their national annex.
Highlighted dates
- Launch of the call for proposals: 3 December 2025
- Closure of pre-proposals: February 18, 2026, 12:00 CET
- Closing of complete proposals: July 8, 2026, 12:00 CEST
- Start of the projects: January 2027
These dates could be adjusted following the publication of the national financing documents.
Upcoming informative events
To publicize the characteristics of the call at European level, the Agroecology Partnership organizes an international webinar on December 10 at 10:00h CET.
For its part, the AEI, with the participation of the CDTI Innovation and the regional funding agencies, will hold a national information webinar dedicated to agri-food sector partnerships on December 15 at 11:00h CET. This meeting will present the conditions of participation and financing for Spanish entities and the priority research topics.
