The CDTI Innovation announces the opening of the so-called joint KSSP between spain and korea 2025-2026

The centre for technological development and innovation (CDTI) and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KYATS) have agreed to launch a new joint call for the submission of proposals for technology cooperation in the areas of artificial intelligence and semiconductor.

Under this agreement, the CDTI KYATS and undertake to promote, support and financing joint technological projects of corporate entities korean and spanish, which can count on the involvement of non-business, in the spanish case, should do so as subcontractors.

The time of submission of proposals will be open from 24 september 2025 until 28 january 2026, with the goal of the projects selected should begin on 1 august 2026.

The convening 2025-2026 KSSP programme, managed by both agencies, will provide support in the form of subsidy for joint projects and high impact on technologies that are anchored in any of the topics identified for this year: artificial intelligence and semiconductor.

The Programme KSSP, pioneer in the form with a third country, seeks to make a qualitative leap in the draft international technology cooperation, increasing intensity in r & D and the budget volume. In Addition, the approved projects receive a “ seal of quality ” that not only constitutes an element of recognition of the technological level of the proposal, but also grants access to public funding.

In the case of Spain, the financing of companies will be via a call for direct allocation managed by the CDTI, which can only be beneficiaries those obtaining previously quality label.

Characteristics of the projects

Projects should have the following characteristics:

• The result of such projects should be a product, process or innovative service.
• The consortium should comprise at least two spanish companies (a big or small as a leader and an additional SMES) and an independent, korean, and the project must be relevant for all partners (no country or a member of the partnership must have more than 60% of the budget).
• None of the applicants may participate in more than one consortium to a same sitting. If the case, you will be asked to select a participant that request and to withdraw the rest.
• The duration of projects may be between 12 and 36 months.
• The proposals, provided for civilian use, must be considered in any of the following areas of technology: artificial intelligence and semiconductor.
• For the spanish part of the consortium, the budget overall objective will be between 2.5 and €6 million and there is need for a minimum budget contribution of the SMES of 10% on the total budget of the spanish part. The budget must be consistent with the developments and to make the technical capacity/financial assistance of the participants.

In addition, participants should sign a consortium to specify the rights and obligations of the parties on the development potential and intellectual property rights, exploitation and sale of the results.
