Open the convening of the initiative by 2025, Clean Energy Transition (CETP) for transnational research projects

On 11 june opened up the fourth annual call for the submission of transnational research projects under the Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETP) that will remain open until 9 october 2025. This partnership is funded jointly by the european Union within the framework of the European Horizon

Clean Energy Transition Partnershipit is a european partnership whose purpose is to create greater funding partners network of agencies at european level in the field of the transition to clean energy. Among its objectives include the construction of ecosystems of innovation to support capacity-building at all levels, development and demonstration of technologies and solutions for the transition of energy systems, and the construction of a platform for joint programming crime.

Through this initiative will be funded projects to develop solutions and results thanks to provide for clean energy transition. It is hoped that the majority of the projects include solutions for achieving levels of preparedness in the tranche (TRL 6-8), combining technologies, trade performance and the involvement of stakeholders.

The convening of this year includes nine thematic clusters covering a wide range of innovative energy solutions:

  • CM2025-01: multivectoriales Interactions between the integrated energy and industrial processes.
  • CM2025-02: Flexibilidad del sistema energético: producción de energías renovables, almacenamiento e integración del sistema.
  • CM2025-03: Advanced technologies for renewable energy for energy production (A/B). CM2025-03A convenes draft ROA (Focused Approach to research), and CM2025-03B convenes draft IOA (Oriented Approach to innovation).
  • CM2025-04: Capture, use and storage of carbon (CCUS).
  • CM2025-05: Hydrogen and renewable fuels.
  • CM2025-06: Technologies of heating and cooling.
  • CM2025-07: regional integrated Energy systems.
  • CM2025-08: integrated industrial Energy systems.
  • CM2025-09: Integration of clean energy in the built environment.

The project proposal must include at least three separate entities of at least three countries participating in the Joint Invitation CETP 2025 and who are eligible for funding by their respective agency national/regional Funding. Of these three entities, should at least two eu member states or countries associated with Horizon Europe.

Some modules of invitation specified requirements or additional restrictions to be met.

Aid from the CDTI Innovation

The CDTI Innovation will make a grant to those spanish companies whose projects have been elected. The amount shall be given individually on the basis of actual eligible cost of each project, the characteristics of the beneficiary and the budgetary availability, respecting the limits of intensity of aid under The General rules of Exemption from Categories: 60 per cent for small businesses, 50 per cent for medium-sized enterprises and 40 per cent for large companies. In case of budgetary availability on the part of the CDTI, the intensity of aid could be as high as 70 per cent for all.

Stages

The convening of two phases:

  • Deadline for presenting pre-propuestas:09/10/2025, 14:00 CET
  • Deadline for full proposals:12/03/2026, 14:00 CET

Each spanish company participating in a consortium should send via the electronic site CDTI Innovation preliminary application along with deadline on 9 october 2025. Such a request is an online form accompanied by a technical memory to describe, in spanish, r & D and the budget of the company involvement in the proposal.
