The CDTI Innovation and the Government of Navarre strengthen their collaboration to promote innovation and technological development in this Regional Community
The CDTI Innovation and the Government of Navarre held yesterday in Madrid the 7th meeting of the Joint Commission for the Follow-up of the Collaboration Agreement, in which the results obtained in recent years and the opportunities to continue strengthening the regional R+D+I ecosystem were reviewed.
The Collaboration Agreement between the CDTI Innovation and the Government of Navarre, signed in 2019 and extended in 2023, establishes the framework to promote the participation of Navarre entities in national and international R+D+I programs, promote business innovation and strengthen knowledge transfer.
The Joint Commission for the follow-up of this agreement met yesterday in Madrid to analyze the progress achieved and plan new joint actions. During this meeting, the activity data for the years 2021–2025 were reviewed, in which the CDTI Innovation has approved 255 R+D+i projects led by Navarra entities, with a total budget of more than 192 million euros and a contribution close to 135 million by the CDTI.

Throughout this period, the Research and Development projects are ranked as the most outstanding, followed by the Science and Innovation Missions, Cervera, the Innovation Hotline and the NEOTEC grants.
At the international level, Navarre has shown remarkable dynamism with 18 projects approved since 2021 in international technological cooperation programs such as Eureka, CHINEKA or PRIMA, which reinforces the external projection of its companies and technological centers.
In addition, the provisional results of participation in Horizon Europe were presented, which show good results in comparison with the VII Framework Programme. The Navarran entities have so far obtained a return of 71.7 million euros, with 205 participations. The specialization in the sectors of Health, Industry, Food and Bioeconomy stands out. In addition, several SMEs have received the Seal of Excellence in calls for the “Accelerator” instrument of the European Innovation Council and one of them has been financed by the CDTI.
The meeting also reviewed the situation of public innovation purchasing initiatives (CPI) and investments committed through the Innvierte program, which in Navarre have the participation of various co-investment funds and financed technology companies.
These regular meetings of the Joint Commission allow us to evaluate progress, coordinate new actions and strengthen collaboration between the CDTI Innovation and the Government of Navarre to promote technological development and the competitiveness of companies in the Foral Community.
