The Quantum technology innovation strengthens the ties between spain and singapore and opens up new opportunities for scientific and technological cooperation

The event, organized by the centre for technological development and innovation (CDTI Innovation) in coordination with the spanish embassy in singapore and the economic and trade office in singapore, Spain has been opened by Juan Payá, consul of the spanish embassy in singapore, and dr. Wilber Lim, director of theNational Quantum Office (NQO). The day has been supported by the laboratory of quantumNational University of Singapore (NUS).

By the CDTI innovation has participated Jordi Espluga, delegate of the external Network of CDTI for south korea, taiwan and singapore, who has highlighted the role of this network as a strategic tool to boost technological internationalization of spanish companies.

In addition, a spanish delegation of nine entities — INSPIRATION Q, QCENTROID, QILIMANJARO, QUANTUM MADS, IDIS Research Health Institute, QUANTYCA SOFTWARE, QUANVIA MULTIVERSE, COMPUTING and TECNALIA Research Institute — has participated in the meeting, presented their technological capacity in the sector and its cooperation initiatives and association agreement with Singapore.

During the event, experts from both countries have addressed the main challenges of quantum technologies, exploring opportunities for collaboration scientific, technological and entrepreneurial development. The meeting has served to highlight the excellence of science, technology and spanish companies in this field, as well as facilitate the sharing of knowledge, experiences and good practices.

To complete the programme had been held bilateral meetings among spanish companies and local entities, as well as technical visits to institutions reference singaporeans as the National University of Singapore (NUS),Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A * STAR)orNanyang Technological University (NTU), among others.
