The CDTI Innovation will cofinance the first call of the Agriculture of Data partnership on data-based solutions for sustainable agriculture

The new European partnership Agriculture of Data launches its first co-financed call for transnational research projects, aimed at developing digital and data-based solutions that promote the climate, environmental and socio-economic sustainability of the agricultural sector

Convocatoria 2025 AgData
The deadline for submitting pre-proposals is January 21, 2026.

The European Partnership Agriculture of Data (AgData), within the framework of the Horizon Europe programme, has opened its first co-financed call for transnational research projects under the title “EU-wide data-driven solutions to real problems”.

The initiative brings together 56 partner organisations from 24 member states and partner countries with the aim of boosting the climate, environmental and socio-economic sustainability of the agricultural sector through the use of Earth observation, environmental and agricultural data, as well as digital and advanced data technologies.

The first phase of the call will remain open until January 21, 2026, with the start of the projects scheduled for January 2027 and an estimated duration of between 24 and 36 months.

The proposals should be aligned with the objectives of the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) of the partnership and address one of the three priority themes:

  • Technologies and data management: FAIR data identification, access, storage, integration and processing, promoting interoperability, data exchange and the development of robust artificial intelligence models for the agricultural sector.
  • Data-driven solutions for sustainable agriculture: strengthening the capacity to adapt to climate change and improving the decision-making and performance of agricultural systems.
  • Data-based solutions for policy formulation: development of indicators and analysis tools to assess policy impact, in particular the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

In addition, the proposals should adopt a multi-stakeholder and user-centred approach, incorporating real use cases and encouraging the participation of farmers, advisors, public administrations and technology providers.

Universities, public research centres, non-profit organisations and private companies will be able to participate through consortia made up of at least three eligible partners from three different funding countries. In this sense, the initiative has enabled a specific space for the search for partners on the call’s website.

Upcoming informative events

In order to facilitate the preparation of proposals, the partnership will hold an international webinar on November 26 and a national day on December 9, the details of which will soon be published on the CDTI Innovation event platform.
