The Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute (EPRI) seeks a spanish company interested in participating in an r & D in the area of the preparation of treatment membranes and desalination of water. This proposal will be presented to the 10th bilateral convening of the programme for innovation Egipto-españa
TheEgyptian Petroleum Research Institute (EPRI)it is the body of inquiry into the petrochemical sector egyptian Government, has more than 4,000 employees and extensive experience in the development of technological solutions.
The aim of the proposal is the preparation and nanofiltration membranes of quitosano reticuladas tannic acid coated and hydrolyzed poliacrilonitrilo for desalination and water treatment. The proposal calls for the manufacture of nanofiltration membranes by means of covering reticulación of membranes and composed of thin film, using quitosano as the active layer, ultrafiltration membranes poliacrilonitrilo hydrolyze of and support tannic Acid reticulación agent.
On previous experience, the investigative team developed nanofiltration membranes from a compound of quitosano reticulado tannic Acid and on a poliacrilonitrilo membrane through a mechanism filling of pores. However, the results presented limitations in chemical and thermal stability, as well as low resistance to the embedding. The new proposal seeks to overcome these constraints through a combination of materials raised, which would lead to improvements in key aspects such as the morphology, porosity, hidrofilicidad, thermal stability and antimicrobial activity of the membranes obtained.
The proposal aims to be submitted to the 10th bilateral call for the development of r & D projects between spanish and egipciones entities within the framework of theInnovation programme Egipto-españa(ESIP, by its initials in english), open until 3 december 2025.
