The CDTI Innovation seeks a Spanish company to develop with Egypt high-value bioactive compounds for agricultural, nutraceutical and biopesticide applications
The initiative seeks to evaluate the genetic diversity and phytochemical profiles of wild species of Rumex and Cleome in Egypt to identify high-value bioactive compounds and develop formulations for further commercialization.
The Ain Shams University of Egypt is looking for a Spanish company to carry out an R&D project in the field of high-value bioactive compounds intended for agricultural, nutraceutical or biopesticide applications. The search is proposed by Dr. Nahla Elsherif with the aim of evaluating the genetic diversity and phytochemical profiles of wild taxons of Rumex and Cleome in Egypt and identifying high-value bioactive compounds.
The participating Spanish company would be in charge of product formulation and pilot production for the subsequent marketing of extracts intended for agriculture, the pharmaceutical industry and cosmetics. Among the competencies required for the Spanish company are:
- Extraction and formulation of bioactive compounds of plant origin
- Development of biopesticides and biostimulants for sustainable agriculture
- Production of natural antioxidants and active ingredients rich in anthraquinones for pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications
- Scaling and marketing of formulations based on natural products
This proposal aims to be presented to the 2026 call of the ESIP program "Egypt Spain Innovation Programme", within the framework of the Spanish-Egyptian Bilateral Technological Cooperation Program, which will remain open until December 3, 2026.
