The CDTI Innovation and the government of the balearic islands strengthen its cooperation to promote innovation and technological development in the region

The collaboration agreement between the CDTI Innovation and the government of the Illes Balears, signed in 2019 and extended by 2023, establishes the framework of cooperation to promote the participation of enterprises baleares in international and national programmes of r + D + i, boost innovative business projects and fostering the transfer of knowledge to the productive fabric.

During the meeting held yesterday in Ibiza, discussed the results of collaboration in recent years, as well as opportunities for improvement to continue strengthening the regional ecosystem of I + D + i. The report was presented, since january 2021, CDTI Innovation has adopted 20 r & D & I projects developed by entities of the Illes Balears, with a total budget of us $15.2 million euros and a contribution from the CDTI of over €11 million.

Emphasizes the participation of entities of this autonomous community in the direct line of innovation (LIC), in the direct line to Expansion (ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH), in Science and innovation Missions, which funded r & D & I projects in collaboration aimed at addressing cross-cutting and strategic challenges for society, and in the programme, which supports Neotec, grant, the creation and consolidation of small technology-based enterprises with a vocation of growth.

At the international level, companies and research centres in the balearic islands have maintained an active participation in international technology cooperation managed by the CDTI innovation, especially in Eureka and Eurostars, as well as in the programme Innoglobal, which finances the activity of spanish companies participating in international consortia of r & D in the context of international technology cooperation and international cooperation to Big Science.

In addition, the entities of this autonomous community show remarkable performance in the programme Horizon europe, with a success rate of 22.8 per cent, higher than the national average and reached in the previous programme H2020.

Finally, it was emphasized the role of the foundation as a Bit of the network of info-points relating to the public financing of r + D + i (Red PIDI) in the Illes Balears, cooperating with the CDTI innovation in the promotion of calls, the advice to companies and entrepreneurs on the most appropriate support, depending on the nature of its projects tecnológico-empresariales and organizing forums information days and technology.

These regular meetings of the mixed commission to take stock of results, coordinate joint actions and to strengthen the collaboration between the CDTI Innovation and regional administrations in favour of technological development and enterprise competitiveness. They contribute to regional alignment of policies and state R + D + i, promoting synergies to facilitate the participation of enterprises in developing programmes to support innovation, capturing of talent and the use of european funding instruments.
