The CDTI Innovation promotes technological cooperation between Spain and South Korea in technologies related to the infrastructure and transport sector

The CDTI Innovation and the Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancements (KAIA) have jointly organized the innovation dialogue “CDTI-KAIA SKIT R&D Forum” within the Global Joint R&D for Land, Infrastructure and Transport held on June 24 in Seoul.

This meeting is part of the collaboration between CDTI Innovation and KAIA, a public agency under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) of South Korea, with which CDTI Innovation signed a letter of intent in 2025 that allowed the launch of the first joint call of the Spain-Korea Infrastructure and Transport Technology Program (SKIT), aimed at promoting joint R+D+I projects between Spanish and Korean entities.

As a result of the progress achieved and the interest generated by this first call, both entities have signed during the meeting a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that replaces the previous letter of intent and strengthens the institutional collaboration framework for the development of future joint initiatives in this field.

The innovation dialogue, which was attended by institutional representatives from both countries, also brought together companies and technology centres. During the day, the CDTI Innovation has presented its main activities and instruments to support business innovation and international technological cooperation. In addition, several Spanish companies selected in the first SKIT call, such as Agroaerospace-Sanzar Group, Odin Solutions, BCNVision and Hiberus, together with Becsa Group and the ITA Innova technology center, have presented their technological capabilities and have announced innovative solutions linked to the fields of infrastructure, mobility and digital technologies applied to transport.

On the Korean side, KAIA has presented its programs to support international cooperation and has counted on the participation of the companies Smart E&C, SundoSoft, ITS Korea and Autocrypt, which have exposed their capacities and areas of interest for future collaborations with Spanish entities.

The innovation dialogue has brought together more than 60 entities, reflecting the growing interest of Korean organizations to collaborate with Spain in strategic technological sectors linked to infrastructures and transport.The meeting was also held within the framework of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Technology Fair (LITT), one of the main sectoral events in South Korea, with the participation of representatives of MOLIT and KAIA at the highest level.

The holding of this dialogue and the signing of the new Memorandum of Understanding reinforce the commitment of CDTI Innovation and the Korean agency KAIA to the promotion of international technological cooperation and open up new opportunities for the development of joint R&D&I projects that contribute to strengthening the competitiveness and innovative capacity of the entities of both countries.
