BUNKER'S TEMPORARY BEAMSTOPS
The facility requires various shielding to cater for a safe working environment. The Bunker’s Temporary Beamstops project carries the task of providing a standardised common design solution of an auxiliary shielding for instruments that will not have fully installed beamline for Beam on Target (BOT). The purpose of a beamstops is to reduce radiation level to safe levels in the experimental halls (D01 and D03 buildings) and guide hall (E02 building) to thus ensure a safe working environment. The scope of work of the service and supply of the Bunker’s Temporary Beamstops is to perform a production design, manufacturing, and delivery of concrete blocks. Three scenarios with various quantity of blocks wanted are presented when ESS publish the full documentation.

Wet and dry Cryostats
The focus is on the procurement of five "wet" and five “dry” cryostats, each designated for a specific instrument. These cryostats play a crucial role in facilitating precise and controlled sample environments for a variety of scientific investigations conducted at ESS. All cryostats should be delivered until end of 2025.

FREIA Chopper Pit & Cave Shielding
ESS is requesting suppliers to submit tenders in order to conclude an agreement for the the FREIA Chopper Pit & Cave Shielding, a reinforced concrete structure, designed to shield against neutron and gamma radiation at the ESS in Lund, Sweden. Two constructions (the chopper pit, and cave) are required to both restrict access and to lower radiation levels at the ESS site. For a multitude of reasons, including, cost, activation and neutron background, concrete with a surface layer doped with boron, will be employed as the primary shielding medium. Additional gamma shielding made from steel that is not included within the scope of delivery, will then be added to the cave, so the structure must be designed to handle this additional weight. Both structures supported on a cast-in-place plinth to reduce the loading on the hall floor. They are designed access points and service penetrations. The project consists of the following: Products: Chopper pit reinforced concrete, including a cast-in-place plinth, and pre-cast concrete walls and roof slabs Cave structure reinforced concrete, including a cast-in-place plinth, and pre-cast concrete walls and roof slabs Cave access door, manually operated and primarily made from steel Raised internal and external flooring platform Service chicanes at both floor and roof level Option: Internal 1T fully motorized crane Services Design Drawings and calculations: detailed structural design based on the conceptual design provided. Project management: schedule, Preliminary meeting, milestones, Kick-off meeting, design review, FAT, SAT Delivery to ESS site Construction, installation and painting at ESS.
