Identified need

IFMIF-DONES (International Fusion Materials Irradiation Facility, DEMO Oriented Neutron Source) is the scientific infrastructure that the consortium IFMIF GIFTS Spain will help to build and operate in Escúzar (Granada). This future major Scientific was unique to the international level and has been included in the road map for the achievement of fusion energy and the list of the european strategic infrastructures (ESFRI).

IFMIF-DONES is a source of neutrons, essential to test the most critical material installations, which makes it unique in the world, but also makes it an important technological baseline for many other scientific or industrial facilities that are under construction or are in the project.

The object of this agreement of CPC is the development of Technological Validators integrated systems of the Accelerator (VATIAC) and systems in the area of Test (VATIST), which will enable the Consortium of performing long-term critical systems and components for the future major international scientific IFMIF-DONES.
