The CDTI Innovation drives the internationalization of 21 spanish projects of I + D + I with 5,47 million in subsidy to the first call 2025 of Eurostars-3
Published the final resolution of the International Interempresas Eurostars-3 (CoD7) for 2025, 21 r & D projects led by spanish companies will cooperate with partners from other european countries to develop solutions of high impact on global markets

The CDTI innovation, the agency for innovation of the ministry of science, innovation and universities allocated 5,47 million in the form of direct grant projects approved in the international call financial commitment. This strengthens the ability of spanish companies to compete in leading sectors and have access to new markets, ensuring a substantial multiplier effect on private and public investment. The leverage ratio reached in Eurostars-3 between community funds, domestic and private resources contributes to mobilize additional resources that exceed some triple in funding provided by the CDTI Innovation.
The regional distribution of approved projects displays a map of diversified innovation, which originated in seven autonomous communities. This wide territorial coverage expresses the dynamism and innovative capacity of spanish companies in different regional ecosystems.

The projects selected strategic thematic cover for technological leadership english, including initiatives in biotechnology and health - development of advanced therapies and rapid diagnostic solutions – clean technologies for energy transition, data analysis, massive and artificial intelligence applied to industry 4.0, as well as new materials and manufacturing processes. These lines of research, responding to global challenges, put spanish companies in the forefront of international markets.
The programme Eurostars-3
The programme Eurostars-3 drives, within the framework of the agreement between the european association of Innovative Smes and the european commission, research and development projects, demanding close-to-market in innovation and commercialization, that until the 75% of the budget of spanish companies is covered by the CDTI and 25 per cent by funds from the european Union. This programme also promotes the internationalization of smes, by integrating them into consortia of at least two countries from which one must be a member of the eu or associated with Horizon Europe.
In particular, each project select consortia that combine the experience of companies of different countries, which favours the exchange of knowledge, the creation of networks of cooperation and the development of solutions for a truly international in scope. This approach of “ transnational collaboration ” is one of the pillars of Eurostars-3 and allows the spanish Smes expand their business opportunities, diversify risks and to accede to emerging markets.
In addition to strengthening national competitiveness, Eurostars-3 consolidates the role of the CDTI Innovation as a trusted partner for companies who aspire to lead international projects. The CDTI Innovation, the agency for innovation of the ministry of science, innovation and universities, provides technical and management advice throughout the process — from the proposal to the management of funding — and to ensure flexibility in the processing and an accompaniment adapted to the needs of smes and research centres.
Eurostars-3 in the spanish strategy
The integration of this programme in the “ State Plan of scientific research, technological and Innovation 2024-2027 ” underscores its strategic significance. Eurostars-3 part both of the programme of “ transfer and Partnership ” and the sectional programme “ internationalization ”, directly contributing to the objectives to modernize the productive fabric, stimulate the transfer of technology and strengthen the presence of Spain in multilateral projects.
This programme is integrated into the deployment of CDTI Innovation to promote an ecosystem of I + D + I robust and market-oriented, in which spanish companies acquire international lead and strengthen its competitive positioning. The convening of Eurostars-3 CoD7 runs a new generation of projects, with commercial vocation and a high technological content, represent a bet for the sustainable future and digital Spain.
