The CDTI in figures
In 2019, the CDTI pledged partially repayable grants and subsidies of €7.831billion to Spanish companies to support the development of 1666 different R&D operations, totalling a budget of €1.1 billion.

Approved projects
From here, you can consult different lists of projects approved by the CDTI, as well as relevant statistics that provide an aggregate view of the volume of aid pledged by the CDTI.
- Evolution of CDTI Direct Aid. Distribution by type of aid and sectoral areas of approved projects
- Evolution of CDTI Direct Aid. Distribution by type of aid and regions of approved projects
- Evolution of CDTI Direct Aid. Distribution by type of aid and CNAE code of companies developing approved projects
- Evolution of CDTI Direct Aid. Distribution by type of aid and size of the companies developing approved projects
The variables provided in these statistics are as follows:
- Operations (number of companies participating in the projects, as the cooperative projects involve several companies)
- Aid awarded (funds pledged by the CDTI, which may be in the form of partially repayable grants or subsidies)
- Budget (total amount invested: the sum of the CDTI contribution and company financing)
Projects formalised (signed)
The CDTI approves a different number of projects each month. In the case of those with a permanently open call for applications (loan-type aid), approval implies a commitment to make a financial contribution, which becomes effective when the CDTI and the beneficiary company sign a contract regulating the terms of the aid pledged. When this is signed, the aid pledged is deemed to have been awarded. For various reasons, around 5% of approved projects do not end up being formalised.
A detailed qualitative description of the Centre's activity can be found in the CDTI Annual Reports, which can be accessed from the Publications section of this website.
