The SICC Innvierte of the CDTI Innovation invests, together with BeAble Innvierte Kets Fund, in Molecular Gate, a company that develops an authentication technology to protect the labeling and packaging of products against counterfeiting

MOLECULAR GATE, SL. (Molecular Gate) is a Catalan company founded in 2022 by the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB CSIC), which offers advanced security solutions that strengthen the labelling and packaging of products, significantly increasing their protection against counterfeiting.

To this end, it has developed Polargram™, an authentication technology that works by printing nanostructured patterns with patented semiconductive molecular inks, capable of generating unique optical effects, impossible to reproduce by conventional printing or copying methods. Each label can be serialized or encoded with a unique optical signature, combining physical (visible) security and digital (hidden) traceability in a single scalable step.

Thanks to the anti-counterfeiting technology of Molecular Gate, the authenticity of food, toys or pharmaceutical products, among others, can be guaranteed through packaging and packaging.

The CDTI Innovation, through Innvierte, has closed an investment operation in this company with BEABLE INNVIERTE KETS FUND, FCR with an investment amount of 450,000 euros.

BeAble Innvierte Kets Fund

BEABLE INNVIERTE KETS FUND FCR is the Deep Tech reference fund in science equity specialized in Deep Science, managed by the investment manager BEABLE CAPITAL SGEIC, S.A. (BeAble Capital). This firm invests in areas such as nanotechnology, photonics and biotechnology. The fund, of 35 million euros and backed by important institutions, has supported Molecular Gate since its creation. 
 

Innvierte

Innvierte is an initiative whose objective is to promote business innovation by supporting venture capital investment in technology-based or innovative companies. This program is implemented through the closed-ended collective investment company Innvierte Economía Permanente SICC S.M.E., S.A., self-managed and subject to the supervision of the National Securities Market Commission and of which CDTI Innovation is a single shareholder.

To date, the CDTI Innovation has committed, through Innvierte, 3,183.8 M€ in 57 investment vehicles and, through its co-investment line, has directly committed an amount of 864.3 M€ in 197 companies.

Innvierte is part of the Spanish Strategy of Science, Technology and Innovation 2021-2027, approved by Agreement of the Council of Ministers, in September 2020. This Strategy contains the objectives, reforms and measures that must be adopted throughout the field of R+D+I in order to boost its growth and impact, and is one of the pillars on which the design of the Government's R+D+I policy for the coming years is based.
