The CDTI Innovation has published the interim report of the results of the Spanish participation in the calls awarded in the first four years of Horizon Europe, the current Framework Program of Research and Innovation of the European Union for the period 2021-2027.
During the period 2021-2024, Spanish entities have obtained grants totalling 4,507.6 million euros, to develop 4,813 research and innovation activities that will result in investments of more than 5,300 million euros in R+D+I in our country.
These results place Spain in third place among the countries that have obtained the most subsidies, with a rate of return of 11.4% compared to the total destined for the EU-27, only behind Germany and France. In addition, Spain greatly exceeds the results obtained in previous editions of the Framework Programme and the contribution of our country to the budget of the European Union.
The proposals with Spanish participation add up to a total of 11,227 participations, consolidating the country as a second in number of participations. In addition, Spain is the first country in leadership of collaborative research and innovation projects funded by Horizonte Europa, which represents 15.8% of the total and reflects the outstanding role of our entities in the European context.
The CDTI Innovation promotes and coordinates the Spanish participation in Horizon Europe of all types of entities, both public and private, acting as a representative in the Program Committees and National Point of Contact in the different pillars and clusters of the Program, thus contributing to the achievement of the objectives set at each moment.
