The CDTI Innovation seeks a Spanish company to collaborate with Egypt in an R&D project on plant health
The initiative aims to develop and validate a platform based on biological resources to improve plant health and crop tolerance against different types of stress
The CEBAS-CSIC and the Agriculture Research Center (ARC) of Egypt are looking for a Spanish company specialized in molecular biology to collaborate in an R&D project aimed at improving plant health and crop tolerance against combined biotic and abiotic stresses. The participating company must have capabilities for the development of raw materials and biological components, formulation optimization and microbial and physicochemical compatibility studies.
The collaboration proposes the development and joint validation between Spain and Egypt of a multifunctional plant health platform based on biological resources, based on selected natural and biological components. The platform will study different solutions, including:
- Non-nanostructured chitosan.
- Beneficial microbial inoculants, including Trichoderma species.
- [Rizobacteria promoting plant growth].
- Other selected beneficial microorganisms.
- Botanical bioactives and compounds derived from essential oils.
- Biostimulant components derived from microalgae, including materials obtained from spirulina.
The proposal is scheduled to be presented to the 2026 call for proposals of the ESIP program "Egypt Spain Innovation Programme", within the framework of the Spanish-Egyptian Bilateral Technological Cooperation Program, which will remain open until December 3, 2026.
