International technological cooperation favours the joint development of innovative solutions aimed at sustainability and industrial transition

The Chilean company BELLBAST, specialized in integral and sustainable solutions in environmental management and waste for sectors such as mining, electricity, construction and public services, proposes a technological collaboration with a Spanish company to evolve towards an experimental prototype a fuel pellet concept test based on Chilean residual carbon black mixed with biomass.

The proposal includes activities of development and validation of a recovered solid fuel pellet made from the mixture of Chilean residual black carbon, obtained mainly from the pyrolysis of tires out of use, with dehydrated and milled rice husk as a component of biomass, as well as natural binders. The objective is to obtain a densified pellet unit with standardized physical and energy properties that allow its storage, transport and use as fuel in industrial furnaces, boilers and coprocessing processes in the cement and mining industry.
