8ª Comisión Mixta La Rioja
The collaboration between the CDTI and the CC. AA. Facilitates companies’ access to new opportunities for finance, innovation and technological cooperation

The CDTI Innovation and the Economic Development Agency of La Rioja (ADER) have held in Logroño the 8th Joint Monitoring Committee of the collaboration agreement signed in 2019 between both entities for the promotion of innovation and technological development in the autonomous community. These follow-up meetings serve to analyse the evolution of the main activity indicators and identify new opportunities for joint action and are a key tool to bring the instruments of support for R+D+I closer to the business fabric and promote the development of technological projects with the capacity to generate growth, competitiveness and employment of high added value.

At the national level, the meeting has highlighted the growing participation of Rioja entities in the instruments managed by the CDTI Innovation. Among the initiatives with greater presence are the Research and Development projects, the calls for Science and Innovation Missions, the Cervera programs, NEOTEC grants and business cooperation actions, instruments aimed at promoting strategic technological projects, promoting collaboration between companies and research bodies, promoting the transfer of knowledge and supporting the creation and consolidation of innovative technology-based companies.

The Commission has also analysed the opportunities offered by Innovative Public Procurement as a tool for accelerating the development and validation of new technologies capable of responding to challenges of public interest. In this area, the participation of the Rioja company Bosonic in Pre-Commercial Public Procurement initiatives promoted by the CDTI Innovation highlights the technological capabilities of the region in strategic areas such as advanced computing and intelligent resource management.

At the international level, the Commission has reviewed the evolution of the participation of Rioja entities in Horizonte Europa and in the international technological cooperation programmes promoted by the CDTI Innovation. The results reflect a growing participation of Rioja companies and entities in European collaborative projects, consolidating the international projection of the regional innovation ecosystem.

Particularly relevant is the participation in initiatives such as Eureka and Eurostars, programs that facilitate international technological cooperation between innovative companies and that allow the development of joint projects with partners from other countries. The involvement of Rioja entities in these initiatives reflects the capacity of the region to integrate into international innovation networks and access new opportunities for technological and market development.

The celebration of this Joint Committee reaffirms the commitment of the CDTI Innovation and the ADER to the strengthening of the Rioja ecosystem of innovation. The institutional coordination between the two entities will continue to facilitate the access of companies to increasingly specialized financing instruments, promote their participation in high-impact technological projects and strengthen the presence of La Rioja in the main national and international R+D+I programs, thus contributing to consolidate an innovative ecosystem more competitive and with a greater international projection.
