Aid for aquaculture investment projects and investment projects in activities for the transformation of fishery and aquaculture products.
The FEMPA (European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund) is the EU fund that is active between 2021 and 2027, in order to support the EU Common Fisheries Policy, the EU Maritime Policy and the EU Agenda for International Ocean Governance.
The FEMPA includes four priorities:
- Priority 1: promoting sustainable fishing and the recovery and conservation of aquatic biological resources.
- Priority 2: promoting sustainable aquaculture activities and the sustainable processing and marketing of fishery and aquaculture products, thereby contributing to the Union's food security.
- Priority 3: Making a sustainable blue economy possible in coastal, island and inland areas and encouraging the development of fishing and aquaculture communities.
- Priority 4: Strengthen international governance of the oceans and make it possible for the seas and oceans to be safe, clean and sustainably managed.

Investment projects in activities for the transformation and marketing of fishery and aquaculture products.
Aid under this typology may be granted to productive investment projects in aquaculture, as well as investment projects in the marketing and processing of fishery and aquaculture products.
Companies validly constituted, with their own legal personality, tax domicile in Spain, and that develop the investment project in Spain.
Continuous convocation.
The submission of applications may be carried out continuously, within the scope of the permanently open call, until the exhaustion of the available funds.
Open all year round.
Partially Refundable Assistance.
Coverage of up to 85% of the total budget approved by the CDTI Board of Directors.
The company must provide at least a minimum financial contribution that covers the percentage of investment not financed through the aid through its own resources or external financing.
The applicable interest rate is Euribor at one year, fixed at the date of approval of the aid, and will apply exclusively to the repayable tranche.
Amortization in 10 years, with 1 year of shortage.
The non-refundable tranche of the aid will be 33% (see detail sheet of the instrument).
Individual projects, developed by a single company.
The minimum budget that can be financed per project is 175,000 euros and the maximum is 9,500,000 euros.
Duration: from 9 to 24 months.
The projects will be co-financed through FEMPA 2021-2027, provided they meet the requirements to be financiable and there is availability of funds.

Eligible investments and expenses are considered:
- The acquisition of new fixed assets necessary for the development of the project.
- Costs of personnel dedicated to the project.
- Costs of expendable and consumable materials.
- External collaborations. Subcontracting.
- Indirect costs (see detail sheet of the instrument).
- Project audit costs, with a maximum limit of 2,000 euros.

- Horizontal, environmental and social
- Specific technical and economic feasibility
- Specific to the type of activity
The aid is incompatible with any other public aid (direct or indirect) intended for the same purpose.
